Seven mortar shells fell in the Eshkol Regional Council, followed shortly after by three more near a kibbutz in the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council. No injuries were reported in either explosion.

A 122-millimeter Grad rocket landed in a private yard of a residential area in Beersheba earlier Wednesday morning.

No deaths were reported in the Beersheba blast, however, one 56-year-old man was injured moderately in his chest by flying debris when he witnessed the grad's explosion from his third story window. He was treated by paramedics who arrived on the scene. Three others were treated for shock

Israel is obligated to protect its citizens from attack. Israel is at a state of war and needs to neutralize those who cause it harm.

If they don't, then more mothers, sisters, and wives as well as children and iinfants will be blown to bits - their only crime - being a Jew.

Or an Israeli, aRTieA. Not all Israelis are Jews. I served in the army, I love my country, I am not Jewish.

That point having been made, I strongly feel like we are chasing our own tails here. OK, we invade, kill a few Palestinians, kill some of our soldiers, get condemned, rockets stop for a while, rockets start again, and we attack again, and so on, and so on, and so freaking on.

On the other hand, like you mention, we can't just sit on our butts and wait for this to happen again, and again... But why not resort to more economic ways? For example, closing the border until all rockets stop. Not letting any Palestinian worker enter Israel. That would cause TREMENDOUS internal pressure on Hamas. The people would divert their hate and anger to them instead of to Israel. Israel could make a tremendous speech saying they will try and do everything they can to save Palestinian lives and not give in to Hamas's desire to see Israel kill Palestinian civilians in retaliation and thus will close all entry into Israel instead of bombarding. Beg the Palestinian people to control their government so that they could go back to earn their Israeli wages, sell their good, etc. Wouldn't that be effective? Isn't it worth a try? And wouldn't it also rise Israel's standing in international eyes?

I can understand your desire for a non-violent resolution. I also think Israel has been very patient.

Israel cannot completely close the border with Gaza as it also borders with Egypt. As far as I know there are no Palestinians working in Israel from Gaza, Hamas would not allow it.

There is no other choice because the rockets and mortar attacks will not stop. I believe that Israel is slowly escalate.

It's not only workers, it's fruits and vegetables. And not only Gaza, also the West Bank. Simply sever ties with 'Palestine' until all aggression stops...

I don't know. All I know is that if I have to send my husband off to fight one more time I am personally gonna go and give them a piece of my mind.

As for all those idiots who refuse to see the truth and the fact that Israel is sick and tired of fighting, that its sole actions come out of a need for DEFENSE, not OFFENSE, I wish I could slap some sense into them too.

I'm so sick of having Hamas attack and then having the world declare THEM as victims. Why, because they don't even know how to aim?! Pathetic. And shame on anyone who doesn't have sense or brain enough to realize the truth, the facts, the reality, and the unfortunate disproportion of it all.

OK, I feel better.
